Allie smiled innocently. "Ya well, I wanted you to be the one to say it. I didn't want to bring it up if you weren't ready to talk about it." She hoped he was greatful. "And it's good to see you smile again." Allie laughed slightly as she realized she was self conciously flirting and shook her head slighty. He was too young. "And I think you know her better than anyone. So I think you already know."

Christian repositioned himself more comfortably, feeling much more relaxed with her than he had before. Thanks. He said thoughtfully, shuffling his feet and kicking at a rock.

Allie nodded once. "Any time." She smiled warmly at him. "And I know you probably don't want to hear this, but, just because you love her, doesn't mean your the right one for her. And that doesn't mean you can't still be best friends." She gave him a truthful half smile and stood up. "Oh and you should start wearing your dog tag again. It looked good on you." Her friendly smiled was full now and she started ti walk away.

Christian stared at her, dumbfounded, as she walked away. As she went out of view, he slowly slipped his hand into his pocket, where he could feel the warm metal chain and dog tag hanging from it. He squeezed it hard, staring into space.
