Star waited inside the club, sitting somewhere she could see the door and waited for Christian to walk in. It had been almost a week since Andrew broke up with her and almost twice that since she'd seen Christian. She hoped he got her note that she put in his locker to meet her at the club at 9:00. It was almost 9:15. She's wait for a while longer. There's always traffic and he could just be running late. A few guys had asked her to dance with them since she'd come in, but she said no every time, not feeling like her usuall happy and fun-loving self. She hadn't been herself since it was over with Andrew. Looking down at the floor, she couldn't stop thinking about him, she tried to clear her mind and just think about Christian. It wasn't going too well.

Heads turned slightly as Christian drove his rarely used motorbike to the parking lot of Liquid. He'd been dirt biking for a few years now, and he had gotten a motor bike for Christmas last year. He'd driven it a few times, but he was never really much of an edgy kind of guy. That had changed.
He was wearing a mostly black outfit, and he had done his hair differently so it appeared almost a bit damp . It was something he'd seen lots of punky-guys do. He was wearing his dog-tag, but it was tucked under his shirt. Tonight was his chance. He wasn't going to blow it this time.
Christian got off the bike, walking to the doors of Liquid and stepping inside. Familiar sights, smells, and sounds filled his senses as he entered. Big and pearly white, with cool designs and comfy furniture to lounge in by the virgin bar. Lights were flashing blue and white, making it an exciting feel. In the middle, a small staircase led down to the dance floor, which lighted up different colours and was crowded with kids. The sides were made of glass, so you could look down at the people walking underneath.
He'd been here many times, mostly with girls he dumped the next day or soon after. It was the same, but tonight was different. Tonight actually mattered. He took a breath of the crisp, clean scent and started walking inside, looking around for Star.

Star saw someone walk through the doors and for a second she thought it was Christian, but this guy looked all punk. When she looked closer at his face she realized it was him. She got up and started to walk over to him when yet another guy came up and asked her dance. She said no nicely and kept walking. That had to have been the 15th guy that asked her tonight. When she got closer to this guy she wasn't sure was Christian or not, she called out. "Christian?" She said, half hoping it wouldn't be him and she could go back to waiting for the Christian who had become her best friend. The real him. She stopped walking after she called his name and waited for no more than a moment before he turned around. It was him. Star's heart flipped, but she couldn't tell if she was upset or happy it was him.

Christian turned around at his name, his heart pounding. Then he saw her, and he almost crumbled to pieces. He lost his new roll, smiling his big, toothy grin he always smiled when he saw her. But then he remembered. He snapped back to his edgy-attitude, wiping away the smile and flipping his hair.
He slowly walked towards her, unsure of himself but not wanting to show it. He stopped an awkward large space away from her, looking around. He turned his gaze back on her, his eyes melting but forcing himself to stay firm. Hey, He said to her, putting a hand in his pocket.

"Hey?" She couldn't believe what was happening. She looked him over again. "What happened to you?" She said in awe. "What happened to the happy guy that's my best friend? What happened to the guy that ran over to give me a hug when he saw me? What happened to the real you?" she couldn't stop herself from blurting everything out.

Christian stared at her in shock, his mouth slightly opened. Wasn't this what she wanted, what she liked? He stumbled for words, trying to make sense of everything. I-I...I just... He couldn't speak, blinking his eyes to make sure this was really happening.

Star realized what he was doing, but she didn't want to say it because she hoped she was wrong, even though she knew she wasn't. "Just what?" She said intimidatingly and took a step forward and crossed her arms. She knew there was slight hurt in her eyes, but she didn't try to hide it. She knew there was anger and sadness in them too, and she definitley wanted those to show.

Star took a step toward him, and he took a step back. He clutched at his chest where his dog-tag lay under his shirt, staring at her with wide eyes, shocked at where this was going. I thought... He swallowed hard, his eyes flicking around her face.

Star could see he wasn't going to be able to finish a sentence, so she kept talking. "I came here tonight thinking I was going to be able spend a night with my best friend that I grew up, not some guy that's not you at all." Her voice was softer now. "I came here tonight to give the Christian that I know a chance, because that's what he wanted. And that was our deal." Star didn't know if he knew about her and Andrew breaking up or not. "But I want to be with the real you, not someone your trying to be." She let her arms fall to her sides. That last part wasn't totally true. She wanted to be with Andrew, but she promised Christian a chance, so she wanted it be with the real him atleast.

Christian stared at her, not believing her words. You're giving me a chance? He whispered, not believing his own words. His heart raced, and a smile ran along his lips as his eyes danced along her face. He felt like running to the school, turning on the intercom and announcing it to the school. He wanted to sweep her up off her feet, show her how much more he could be for her than what she thought he was.

Star could almost feel waves of excitement coming from him. Did he really love her that much? She wasn't that perfect, was she? She nodded her head just a little bit. "I'm not with Andrew anymore. He..." She was talking very, very quietly. "We broke up. About a week ago." She hoped he hadn't caught her when she almost said he broke up with her. "I asked you to come here to keep my promise and give you a chance." She wasn't even looking at him now, but at the floor, and talking like she was shy and embarassed. That wasn't like her. She also hoped he didn't notice her change in personality.

It was then that Christian noticed the slight difference in the way she acted. He lost himself completely, and he took the two steps towards her and grabbed her hands, looking in her eyes with anger and worry. Did he hurt you? He asked, his voice low and serious. He couldn't stand the thought of Andrew even touching her, let alone hurt her in some way.

Star didn't look up at him, but swallowed back a few tears that started to come when she thought of Andrew. "No." She said it weakly and unconvincingly, still not looking up from the floor, but she hoped Christian bought it.

Christian stared at her, wishing she would look up. Obviously, he had done something. But she wouldn't tell him. A stab of pain went through his chest, remembering the days when they told each other everything. Tell me... He pleaded, squeezing her hands. Tell me anything... Please... I miss you... Anything he was trying to be was gone now, and he was back to his insecure, needy self.

Star quickly debated whether or not to tell him what happened between her and Andrew, but decided against it, because she thought if Christian knew, then he would try to do something to Andrew to make him pay, and she didn't want him getting hurt. Andrew was powerful. She looked up at him with a little more confindence in her words. "It's nothing. Really." She let out a quick and quiet sigh and hoped he didn't notice it. "Come on let's go sit down or something." She eagerly tried to change the subject and again hoped he didn't notice it. She grabbed his one hand and tried to walk off in the direction of somewhere they could sit down.
