Star smiled and laughed more than she had since her breakup with Andrew. She twirled around so many times everything was blurry and she felt like the world was spinning and she was going to fall over. Then she saw something, or atleast she thought she did. She was pretty dizzy, but she knew what she saw. Her smile faded and turned into a look of curiosity and intense interest as she shook the dizziness from her head. She stared off into the crown of people. She thought she was seeing things, but it wouldn't go away. Her breathing quickened and she stopped bouncing and dancing and singing all together. Her mouth was half open and her eyes filled with disbelief. Andrew was here.

Christian laughed, dancing along with her. But she stopped, and he stopped too, a big smile on his face as he leaned in close to her. What's the matter? He asked over the music. He looked at where she was, then followed her gaze. His heart sank. His hands slipped away from Star's, and he took a step back. It could be just a coincidence. Andrew could have just decided tonight he would go to Liquid and chill out with the friends he doesn't have. Or Christian was apart of some big prank. Or Star could just be playing with him, finding his pain somewhat enjoyable. Hadn't she put him through enough already? His gaze slipped from Andrew back to Star, disbelief and hurt clouding his soft brown eyes. Is this some kind of joke, He asked her, his voice cracking and he swallowed hard. He brought his hand up to his chest, and squeezed the dog-tag that still hung under his shirt. He stared at her in hurt, but hoping, just hoping...

Star didn't even notice when Christian let go of her hands and hers fell to her sides. She was frozen with disbelief. Is that really him? Why is he here? Does he know I'm here? She didn't even hear what Christian said. Everything around her disappeared and all she could see and hear was Andrew. Her eyes particially squinted, somewhat trying to see him clearer, somewhat in confusion on why he was here and what he was doing here. Did he follow me here? So many unanswered questions were flying through her head. Should I go talk to him? Will he come talk to me? She didn't know what she should do, so she didn't do anything. She just stood where she was, jaw still half open and eyes still partcially squinted in utter disbelief and shock, not moving at all.

Christian took a step back, bumping into someone dancing but not noticing. He squeezed his eyes shut, swallowing hard. This wasn't happening. It couldn't be. He put his hands in his hair, his breathing coming out short and shallow. He opened his eyes, looking at Star. Please tell me this isn't happening Star... He felt that choking feeling in his throat, and his eyes grew moist.
She didn't answer him; just kept staring at Andrew. Please Star... His heart was shattering, right underneath her dog-tag. Everything seemed so perfect... He thought to himself, knowing she would hear him if she really cared. But it couldn't be. 'Cause in a perfect world, this could never happen...

Andrew was sitting in his room, thinking about the only thing he thought about anymore. He sat on his bed, his head in his hands. He had to be strong, for her. He couldn't give in. It was the only way to protect her... No matter how much it killed him.
He'd been in his room for a large majority of the past week or so. It was dark, which he liked. And he couldn't smell any blood. But with nothing to do, he couldn't keep his mind off of it. He was always thinking about her, dreaming about her. He needed to get out, do anything to stop his heart from breaking even more.
He got up quickly, so he wouldn't have any time to think about it. He didn't look at himself in his mirror, to see how bloodshot his eyes were, to see how messy and untaken care of his hair was. He walked right out of his dorm, not stopping or slowing down for anything, until finally he got in his car and started the engine.
He had no clue where he was going, or what he was planning on doing what he got there. He was just going to go, and find out after. He started driving, not really paying attention, but squeezing the wheel until he left hand imprints. When he realized what he was doing, he angrily let go and tried to remind himself to control himself.
Finally, he came to a stop. He had no clue why he had come here, nor where he was. He stepped out of the car, and he stared at his chosen destination with dread. It was definitely, out of everywhere, the last place he wanted to go. Liquid. He'd never been there, or even had the urge to go one bit. But here he was.
He found his feet moving forward, and he begged them to stop, but he kept going. He was being pushed, or rather, pulled forward by some force, something he'd definitely felt before... He jerked the thought away and clenched his fists together until he finally stepped into the club.
Bright lights flashed in his eyes, and he squinted, annoyed. His feet brought him forward to the dance floor, and he tried to ignore the questioning glares of teens around him as he looked around. But he didn't get to looking around, because she was the first thing he saw, and he couldn't move.

Star was frozen, but when his eyes locked on to hers, she couldn't hold his gaze and looked down at the floor, closing her eyes and trying to tell herself this was just a dream. Why would he be here? She slightly shook her head to herself, thinking he's not here. I'm here with Christian. She recited it over and over again in her head and she self conciously started mouthing the words. Then, not even realzing it, she started whispering it so it was just barely audible over the music. She could feel and pair of eyes burning into her skin. She tried to tell herself it wasn't him. Then, in the back of her mind she heard something. A familiar voice, or thought rather. Chrsitian was talking to her. She focused on his thoughts, knowing he would want her to, and heard what he was thinking. Slowly she opened her eyes and moved her head up to face Christian. Andrew doesn't like you anymore. Get over it. "You're right." Her voice was quiet. Taking his hand in hers, she took one more secret glance at Andrew with hurt and apologetic eyes before turning and dragging Christian toward the doors. "We should be alone somewhere." Holding back tears, she pulled Christian along marching towward the doors. She was almost outside.

Andrew met her gaze, and suddenly, he couldn't breathe. He stood there for what seemed like a lifetime, not looking away. His heart was just shattering across the dance floor, and he felt like he was drowning, trying desperately to swim to the surface but incapable. Finally, the moment was over. She wasn't looking at him anymore, she was taking Christian's hand, and leading him away. She didn't love him anymore. She loved Christian. Good, He thought to himself, but his thoughts were a long way from his heart.

Christian stared at her, wide eyes filled with shock, as she led him away. His heart was racing. Andrew was just standing there, right there, and Star had chosen him. Star, He said, disbelief clouding his voice. Maybe he was being Punk'd? She had led him outside now, and they were walking out into the parking lot. Star! He said sternly, stopping dead and pulling her hand so she had to stop and turn to him.
He was looking in her eyes, holding her wrist lightly with his left hand and her hand with his right. He had to force himself not to just stand there, and let himself drift away in her eyes. He took a deep breath, trying to ignore the fact that they were close, very close. Closer than he'd ever been to her. Star. Is this real? I mean are you just taking me out here so you can say sorry and all that crap and then go back to Andrew and beg for him back? He asked her angrily yet desperately, hoping she could only hear his anger. He couldn't get his hopes up. He'd done that way too many times, and nothing ever turned out the way he had expected. That wasn't happening this time. He tried to keep that in mind as he felt her pulse beneath his fingers, and her heart beat only millimetres away.

Star starred into his eyes and for once, she wasn't thinking about Andrew. Just once. Her face was close to his, only inches away. She opened her mouth to say she wasn't with Andrew anymore, she didn't love him, and she wanted to be with Christian, but she couldn't find her voice. Whether it was because it was just one of those moments, or because it wasn't all true, she didn't know, but she just couldn't find it. She closed her eyes for a moment and tilted her head down, debating about what to do next to make him believe she wanted to be with him, even if she just wanted to be friends. She could say she just needed time, but she had plenty of time already so that was out. She could hug him, but that wouldn't be enough to convince him. Then, she knew what she had to do. She opened her eyes and looked up at him and locked her eyes on his, grabbing his one hand with her free one so she had one in each. Giving the best tiny smile she could, she leaned forward and lightly pressed her lips to his. She waited for a moment, knowing he'd been waiting for this moment for years and curious to see what he'd do. Her fingers were interlocked with his now and, without realizing she was doing it, she held on tight.

Christian felt stiff, like he couldn't move. He'd had this dream many times before, except this one was extremely vivid. He tried to wake himself up, but he couldn't. He opened his eyes, only to find he was looking at her. Then he realized- it wasn't a dream. The thought hit him and made his heart pound, and he closed his eyes again, moving his hand up her arm a bit and the other to tangle in her hair. He took a breath, then started to kiss her back, squeezing his eyelids together and pressing his body against hers.

Andrew swallowed hard, shakily making his way to the exit. He stepped outside, greeted by the crisp night air. He had to get out of there. He had to- And he almost dropped to his knees. There she was, the girl he loved, the girl he loved too much to be with her. There she was, kissing Christian like Andrew didn't exist. He put his hand in his hair, unable to turn around or walk away. His knees felt wobbly and unsteady, and his bloodshot eyes wouldn't leave her.

Star decided to let him enjoy this, even if she didn't. She could always think he was Andrew and besides, just hearing his thoughts made it totally worth it. She smiled, hoping he would take it as something else. It was then that she realized what she was doing. She was playing her best friend! When did she change? What happened to her? How could she get out of it without making things worse than they already are? She felt kind of awkward with her hands just dangling by her sides while her best friend's hands were all over her and being pressed so close to someone she had known so long and so well. She pulled back just an inch so she could breathe and looked down at the ground. She closed her eyes and focused on her breathing which was now heavy. Swallowing hard, she thought to herself, will things ever be the same between us? "Christian..." She said looking up. She couldn't finish, though. Something over Christian's shoulder caught her eyes and didn't let go. Andrew was there watching them. Now that they were outside in the light, she saw how terrible he looked. She couldn't help herself. She forced herself to pry into his thoughts. What she found shocked her. He was telling himself to be strong and not to give in no matter what. he thought she was safer with Christian and Christian wouldn't hurt me like he would. And then he was thinking how could this happen to him? And there was something else. There was... love... He still cared about her. He still loved her!...Or did he? She wasn't sure and she didn't want to jump to conclusions. She just stood there starring at both Christian and Andrew at the same time. She didn't know what to do. This seemed to be happening alot lately and it was really getting annoying.

Andrew watched, knees weak as Star kissed him. Then, she pulled away, and her eyes met his. So many thoughts ran through his head in that split second, he couldn't keep track of them. Yes, she had seen him. But had she seen him before or after she pulled away from Christian? Did she truly stop kissing Christian because she didn't want to, or stop because she realized he was there? But then he realized, it didn't matter. Why should he care? He had to leave, and he couldn't make her think he wanted her back. All these thoughts had come and gone in less than two seconds, and he knew what he had to do. He casually tried to relax his muscles, hoping it was unnoticeable. He changed his gaze from hurt and desperate to uncaring and blank. He kept looking for only a moment longer before he turned around and started walking away like nothing had happened. His throat was burning. So was his heart.

The kiss ended too short, too abruptly, for a natural end to a kiss. He opened his eyes, still frozen in place. He saw her apologetic eyes and knew at once what was happening. A blade cut through his heart, and he looked at her desperately, shaking his head, pleading. Oh God, Star, He said, his voice cracking, and when the tears started to come, he couldn't stop them. Why do you keep doing this to me?! He yelled in pain, taking a step back as if he didn't know who she was anymore.
She had done this way too many times now. She was playing with him. Over and over again, like a cheat cheat on a video game. I thought you were my friend! I thought you could be more than that! He blurted out, putting his hand in his hair and looking at the ground, unable to keep staring at her.

Star knew how annoyed Chrisitan and she felt the same way. But she couldn't keep her look of sheer confusion from her face. Out of the corner of her eye, she watched Andrew walk away and waited until her was out of earshot. "What?" Her voice was gentle. "I just kissed you, Christian. How--" She was lost for words. "I don't get it. I--I thought that's what you wanted..." She truthfully didn't know what she had done wrong this time. Now a few tears started to run down her cheek. "It seems like everything I do, you find a way to hate me for it." She knew if he looked her in the eyes, he would know she wasn't lying. And she really wasn't. She honestly enjoyed the kiss and it helped her forget Andrew. Maybe this would work out after all...
